Lamborghini Law and Free drop ‘The Wave Theory’
Miami’s artists are often known for a specific style or sound but two artists are changing that profile. Last week, Lamborghini Law and Free released their latest project ‘The Wave Theory’.
“The Wave Theory is just two fly niggas from the crib that can just do whatever they want to do, know what I’m sayin’?”, said Law of the meaning behind the project’s title. “When you pay attention to the characteristics of water, water takes the form of whatever it’s in. If you pour it in a bowl, it is a bowl. If you pour it in a bottle, it becomes a bottle, know what I’m sayin’? So, we are just showin’ niggas that we can do whatever.”
The duo welcomed friends and supporters of their music for an exclusive listen party in an Opa-locka barbershop. In addition to music, guest were gifted ‘The Wave Theory’ swag and the signature drink of the night, ‘surf water’. Although the two do not have a traditional Miami sound, the duo are OK with that perception.
“It feels great, I feel like it’s a compliment,” Law said. “When everybody zigs, we want to zag. We are true hip hop fans. We are true to the hip hop culture. Like, we are true to Miami’s culture … I don’t think that hip hop assimilates to an area … it’s global.”
Free agrees and adds that he’s no stranger to making his own wave.
“Man, I’ve been being different all my life,” Free said. “I have been dealing with this since elementary [school]. I don’t follow nobody, like, you get what I’m sayin’? That’s what makes us unique. That’s what make everybody unique. God made us as individuals. You’re not supposed to follow what [other] people do.”
