Reverend W.R. “Smokie” Norful, Jr

Holiday concert to be held at the Miramar Cultural Center on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 8pm, will feature gospel singer and pianist Reverend W.R. “Smokie” Norful, Jr. best known for his 2002 album, I Need You Now and his 2004 release, Nothing Without You, which won a Grammy at the 47th Annual Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Soul Gospel Album in 2004. Norful received his second Grammy this year at the 57th Annual Grammy awards for his song No Greater Love, ten years after winning his first.

Providing a stage for contemporary Gospel music with artists such as Reverend W. R. “Smokie” Norful demonstrates Miramar Cultural Center’s commitment to all genres of music, but also to their local community where Gospel music is strongly embraced. Stephen Kantrowitz, Interim-Director of Cultural Affairs for the City of Miramar shares, “We are very proud to host a Holiday Concert, featuring Smokie Norful this holiday season, one of the highlight signature performances presented in South Florida this year.”

Let the countdown begin . . . Renowned Gospel Artist, Sherry Moses, will release her much awaited and long anticipated EP, entitled “Standing On Victory” on Tuesday, September 29, 2015. This nationwide event showcases a compilation of five inspirational songs. “Standing On Victory” is an anthem for anyone who has had something in life happen to them that made them feel like giving up. The lyrics speak of life after tragedy; that God will always provide the strength, peace and grace needed to reclaim your life and stand on victory. The EP was produced by Two-time Grammy Nominee, Dinavon Bythwood, and includes writing contributions from many talented artists including Tami Latrell, Clarence Coffee and Marcus Lomax, Dinavon Bythwood, Rev. Trini Massie, and Sherry herself. The inspiration for the project comes from Moses’ own life journey, as well as things experienced in the lives of her family and friends. “Standing On Victory” herself, Sherry Moses is an ambassador for the Kingdom of God.
